The Sheridan Gorman Foundation was born from the worst thing that could happen to a family — and from the extraordinary heart of the sweet girl we lost. Sheridan was just eighteen when she was allegedly killed by a man who was unlawfully present in this country, in a tragedy our family believes was 100% preventable.

Sheridan spent her life noticing people, including them, and making sure no one felt alone. That is the compassion we carry forward through Buddy Benches, scholarships, and service. And the courage is what came after — becoming her voice in the middle of our unimaginable grief, standing up for accountability, and fighting for a safer America so another family does not have to live our story.

Sheridan can no longer speak for herself, so we will be her voice. And we will stand with the families of Americans whose lives have been taken in preventable tragedies tied to illegal immigration. In Sheridan’s honor, we will speak plainly, demand accountability, advocate for safer communities and fight for a safer America so fewer families are ever forced to live with the consequences of failures that never should have happened.
